As I prepared music for church this morning, this was the song that was on my mind -
Lord, help me to live like I wish I'd lived in the past
May I stay in the way of the narrow, and free of regret
And may I surrender whatever is holding me back
Lord, Help me to live like I wish I'd lived in the past.

We all have regrets - things we've done that we wish somehow we could go back and change; words spoken that we wish we could take back. Your regrets and my regrets won't be the same.
Unfortunately, we can't change the past.
But we CAN change the future!
Instead of letting our past define us, and keep us from living the abundant life God has offered us, we can make a commitment to give it to God, learn from our mistakes, and live in the future like we wish we'd lived in the past.
The apostle Paul said it this way:
"...This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14)
What is holding you back?
Give it to God.
With His help, you can make today...and tomorrow...what you wish yesterday could have been.
